An archaeologist is someone who tries to figure out what life was like in the ancient past by looking at the remains of ancient people. This day camp will explore what archaeology is about and you will get the opportunity to dig into a genuine archaeological site. We will travel to Parowan Gap and North of Enoch on Wednesday. Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, bring a water bottle and a sun hat. Prepare to get very dirty!!
Where and When:
Tuesday June 18th from 8 am to Noon at the Iron County Visitors Center West Conference room on Main Street
Wednesday June 19th from 8 am to Noon, Meet at the Extension Office for a field day.
Who: 4-H members 8-18 (grades 3-12 as of January 1, 2013)
Fees: $5 per person
Presenter: Laurel Glidden & Nathan Thomas, Professional Archaeologists
Please bring a sack lunch and a couple of water bottles on field trip day.
