ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:
LA Social Karma is a boutique marketing firm that focuses on helping locally owned businesses manage their “social” online presence which includes, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google + Yelp and TripAdvisor. We provide one-on-one consulting and full end-to-end management of different social sites including monthly content creations, daily monitoring of sites and consulting about what’s new in Social Media. We also help manage Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews by responding to good and bad reviews as well as reporting any fraudulent reviews to the correct channels.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon-native Samantha grew up loving Duck football, fresh-roasted coffees and Willamette Valley pinot noirs. She also has another passion – social media.
Samantha chose to attend the University of Oregon to pursue a degree in public relations, where she spent her school years working for Allen Hall Public Relations, the student-run PR firm, and her summers interning at Bradshaw Advertising, a Portland-based hospitality and lifestyle advertising firm.
Upon graduation, Samantha’s love for hospitality and lifestyle PR, as well as social media, brought her to Los Angeles to begin her career at Bread and Butter PR. She assisted with the development of the firm’s digital division, Bread & Butter Bytes. Samantha’s clients include food products, craft beer and wine labels, local and national restaurants, and celebrity chefs.
When she’s not in the office, Samantha can be found pinning new recipes, tweeting about horrific-yet-addicting shows on the Bravo network, and instagramming photos of new things she finds while exploring Southern California.
Nisha Maxwell has been helping companies strategically embrace social media since Twitter emerged on the scene. Her work in this field has spanned industries from high-tech to consumer products with notable contributions to Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Aloxxi Hair, Murad Skincare and more. As a founding partner of Ideations Communications, Nisha oversees communications strategy, social media and new business development.
With over 15 years of communications, operations and business development experience, Jennifer Newton knows what it takes to develop a company into an established brand. Her work has spanned industries from automotive to fashion to beauty, but her passion has remained the same: to help small businesses and entrepreneurs develop their dream through strategic communications.
