AppRochester Junior: Game App Programming for Kids with Construct2, sponsored by AppRochester, Microsoft, RIT & Scirra
Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
This one day workshop will introduce students to Scirra’s Construct2 (http://www.scirra.com), a free, powerful tool used to create games with little to no programming.
Lunch will be provided and attendees will be required to bring a Windows 7 or Windows 8 laptop with the Construct2 software already installed.
Each student aged 10 to 16 must be accompanied by a parent / guardian throughout the entire workshop.
Attendance is limited to 12 kids, so please only register if you are sure you and your child will attend.
The event is sponsored by AppRochester, Microsoft, RIT, and Scirra.
We will meet at the Golisano Center for Computing at RIT, in the Auditorium (room 1400.)
For those that are planning to be attending the AppRochester Jr Game Dev Workshop on August 17.
You’ll need to have a Windows based computer, either a dedicated machine, virtual machine, or Bootcamp’d Mac.
Go to http://www.scirra.com and install the latest version of Construct2, since we will be using this tool for the class. Also, be sure your system has Internet Explorer 9 or 10, and Google Chrome installed.
We have a google drive to share some files that we will be using for the class.
There are assets and sample templates from Chris Bowen and Jim O’Neil, who ran the last Construct2 event.
