App Academy Interview Day: Recruit Junior Devs
Friday, March 8, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, CA
App Academy is a full-time, 9-week software engineering course. From hundreds of applications, we've selected 17 amazing students. We're lucky to have an amazing and diverse group of highly motivated self-starters, all super smart, and lots of fun.
Our program teaches students Ruby, Rails, and JS (for more info, check out our curriculum), but the core skills we're training are completely language-agnostic. Students learn how to ramp up on new tech fast, how to write scalable, robust code and how to architect software solutions to real-world problems. They graduate with github repos containing thousands of lines of code showing what they're capable of. By the end our program, our graduates will be ready for whatever you have to throw at them; whether it's Ruby, JS, Python, etc.
Past hiring companies include: Facebook, Twilio, Zendesk, Thoughtbot and Carbon Five.
We want to help our students find great entry-level engineering positions, and we're sure you'll love them as much as we do, so we're excited to invite you to come in and meet our students on interview day (March 8)!
Interview day will be structured in a "science-fair" format: each student will have a booth set up where they will be demoing the projects that they built during App Academy. You'll be able to quickly evaluate many candidates and decide who you'd like to bring in for further interviews on-site. Refreshments will be provided after the interviews, and you're free to stick around to talk to students in a more informal setting.
In exchange for access to this recruiting event, App Academy asks a hiring commission equivalent to 20% of the student's first year's salary, payable if a company hires any students in conjunction with the employer day. $5000 of this hiring commission is passed on to the hired student.
