Join us for our third annual kickoff party and networking event! In addition to an exciting gathering of our members and friends, we will be featuring the following special guests who will be "looking back, looking forward" on transportation in the Bay Area:

Sonali BoseDirector of Finance and Information Technology of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) 

Sonali Bose serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). Over the last 25 years, Ms. Bose has held senior-level finance positions in the private and public sectors, including the Metro Gold Rail Line in Los Angeles, the Port of Oakland, the City of Berkeley, and international consulting firms. In her various roles, Ms. Bose has provided strategic advice to Boards of Directors and senior executives, managed operational functions in large organizations with several business lines and provided oversight of complex multi-year projects. For the SFMTA, she has been influential in leading strategic planning and policy efforts, developing long-term operating and capital budgets, and obtaining various federal, state and local funds for projects and programs.


Tilly Chang, Executive Director of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) 

Tilly Chang serves as the Executive Director at the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA). Ms. Chang led the development of the 30-year Countywide Transportation Plan for San Francisco, supported the reauthorization of the Prop K local transportation sales tax in 2003, and managed multiple policy and planning efforts, including congestion pricing initiatives, neighborhood corridor planning studies and Bus Rapid Transit projects. Ms. Chang has over 19 years of experience including 10 years as the Deputy Director for Planning at the Transportation Authority and posts at the World Bank, Metropolitan Transportation Commission and private sector. 

 

José Luis Moscovich, Former Executive Director of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA)

 

José Luis Moscovich is the former Executive Director of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA). He has nearly thirty years' experience in transportation planning and engineering, including project development and oversight, environmental studies and strategic planning, both in the public and private sectors. As Executive Director of the SFCTA, he spearheaded the development of the 30-year Countywide Transportation Plan for San Francisco, in 2004, and the reauthorization of the local transportation sales tax in 2003, approved with a 75% vote. Under his leadership, the SFCTA developed the city's nationally known activity-based travel demand model; prepared a 30-year Strategic Plan for transportation investment; completed the award-winning Octavia Boulevard project; initiated implementation studies for two BRT projects in major city corridors; initiated seminal studies on parking pricing and congestion charging and spearheaded the replacement of Doyle Drive, the south access to the Golden Gate Bridge. 


and Nicole Schneider, Executive Director of Walk San Francisco  

 

Nicole Schneider came to Walk San Francisco in 2013 with a background in active transportation, urban planning, and public health. As a consultant, Ms. Schneider helped develop climate change adaptation plans for the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Program on Health, Equity and Sustainability, and provided bicycle and pedestrian planning services to the Alameda County Transportation Commission. Previously, Ms. Schneider worked at Prevention Institute, training community groups in policy and media advocacy strategies for healthy, equitable places. Nicole holds a Master of City Planning and a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley.


The theme for the discussion will be Bridging the Gap Between Planning and Action.
