Beatriz (Betty) Manetta founded Argent Associates, a certified minority- and female-owned company, in 1998. Argent Associates is a supply-chain management and IT service provider focused on government, enterprise and telecommunications markets. Prior to her venture, Betty worked for more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry with AT&T and Lucent Technologies. She has more than 10 years of international experience, conducting business in the telecommunications sector in the Middle East and Latin America for AT&T. Betty has been recognized by numerous organizations for her leadership and accomplishments. Most recently the Women Presidents’ Organization ranked Argent Associates as the No. 1 Fastest Growing Women- Led Company in the U.S., 9th in the Nation in the top 100 Hispanic American Owned Businesses in the U.S. and 8th in the top 100 Diversity Owned Businesses in New Jersey for the year 2010. NJBIZ also honored her as one of 50 top women leaders in New Jersey for 2010. Betty has also been honored by Dialogue on Diversity as the recipient of the 2001 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award and received the 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year by “HISPANIC Magazine.” In 2004, she received a scholarship from SBC to attend the Tuck-WBENC Executive Education Program and in the same year was honored by Telecommunications (LISTA) as "Person of the Year” and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Regional Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The lecture will follow a reception at 6 pm and an awards ceremony for the winners of the 2014 NJ Idea Competition, which honors high school students statewide for their innovative, bright, and commercially feasible ideas.
The reception will feature a variety of gourmet hors d'oeuvres, finger sandwiches and wraps, wine, soft drinks, and Italian pastries, and will be held in the elegant and historic Lenfell Hall, in the Mansion, Hennessy Hall, on a former Vanderbilt-Twombly estate.
