The San Francisco Chapter of the Haas Alumni network has partnered with the Health Worker Training program at Jewish Vocational Services to bring you a unique and rewarding volunteer opportunity.
Help low wage earners take the leap forward into a professional career!
You will be working with 3-4 entry-level jobseekers in the Health Worker Training program at Jewish Vocational Service (JVS). The program provides vocational training for low-income San Francisco residents. Operating in partnership with San Francisco’s Human Services Agency, Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Department of Public Health the program gives participants the basic skills needed to work as Community Health Workers in a variety of healthcare settings.
This year HAN-SF has teamed up with the JVS to conduct mock interviews for canditates graduating from the program. No knowledge of the healthcare industry is necessary for volunteers. Volunteers play the role of a hiring manager and will interview JVS adult clients. Questions will focus on Behavioral Interview Questions. 1-2 volunteers per interview room.
Each volunteer will interview 3-4 people and will be providing real time feedback to the candidate on their performance.
