New venue, new food, new vibe. This year we're breaking with tradition as we celebrate our alumni community at the Annual SoCal Brunch in a special industry setting. This popular flagship event will take place in the courtyard of Henson Studios in Hollywood, rain or shine.
President Roger H. Brown will be speaking, sharing all the latest news about the college and introducing this year's keynote speaker, renowned A-List film composer Alan Silvestri. Alan, who is best-known for his work with producer Robert Zemeckis, has written numerous memorable and melodic scores including the Back To The Future trilogy, Forrest Gump, Castaway and, more recently, Flight, The Avengers and The Croods. Alan will discuss his journey from Berklee to his early TV music scoring experiences in Los Angeles, and his subsequent evolution as one of Hollywood’s elite film composers.
There is a rich history at Henson, starting in 1917 when Charlie Chaplin began construction of the studio. Chaplin filmed several of his great movies at this studio between 1918 through 1952. Through the years many Berklee alumni have worked and recorded at Henson.
A delicious Mexican food buffet will be provided by Homegirl Catering. Casual chic attire and, since the event is outdoors, please dress appropriately.
Alumni may attend with one guest. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis.
Hosts: Peter Gordon, director of the Berklee Center in LA & Justine Taormino, assistant director, Alumni Affairs.
Parking: Valet parking will be available for $8 per car
