Veterans and their families have special needs - some times relating to trauma, some times related to transitions. The unique culture of veterans and their families make for unique issues. Animals can be a wonderful adjunct when working with vets and their families. The animals can help smooth the transition to the therapeutic process as well as provide for numerous opportunities for beneficial interventions.
This highly experiential workshop with involve working hands on with several types of animals and using some new skills to develop interventions aimed at various goals helpful for veterans and their families.

Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado
Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado is the largest and most experienced clinical program providing Animal Assisted Psychotherapy in the US. We provide hands-on training for professionals and students in the Human Services fields who are interested in integrating animals into their practice. We also offer a Certificate in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy that provides clinical training and supervision as well as professional recognition.
All live training takes place at their Barking CAAT Ranch, a small animal sanctuary located just minutes from Downtown Denver.
Training is provided by professionals who are specialists and pioneers in their field.
Continuing Education is available for all workshops and is Approved by NBCC, State of California BBS and DORA.
