Andy Clausen’s Wishbone Project

San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
New York-based composer and trombonist Andy Clausen presents his "Wishbone Project," touring in support of their recent release on Seattle’s Table & Chairs label. The five piece chamber ensemble of clarinet, accordion, trombone, piano and drums creates "an alluring, whimsical, and just-plain-cool mix of jazz, classical, and experimental music. Challenging music that doesn’t shy away from also being pretty.” - Dave Sumner, eMusic
An active bandleader since the age of 14, Clausen, now 20, has already released two albums of original music. The New York Times has described his work as “sleek, dynamic large-group jazz, a whirl of dark-hued harmony and billowing rhythm…The intelligent sheen of Mr. Clausen’s writing was as striking as the composure of his peers…It was impressive, and not just by the yardstick of their age.”
Featuring Andy Clausen, trombone; Aaron Otheim, accordion; Ivan Arteaga, clarinet; Gus Carns, piano; and Chris Icasiano, drums.
