Andrew Zimmern Pops Up at Royal/T 

"Bizarre Foods America with Andrew Zimmern" stops by Royal/T to create a spontaneous and captivating experience for Angelenos.  This unprecedented event will bring Andrew's bizarre world to the every day restaurant-goer.  Merging cuisines, Andrew has created a menu to appeal to the masses while simultaneously introducing them to new foods, ideas and art forms.

Tongue Tied;  veal tongue, beef tongue tartar and chile braised lamb tongue quesadilla

Chef Zimmern's menu contains a few fun surprises that will expand guest's palates, but when all is said and done, be tasty!  All meat will be sourced locally through renouned butcher duo Lindy & Grundy and seafood from the Imperial Fish Market in Los Angeles.  Wine parings and suggestions will be offered from local wine shop Domaine LA with additional beverages provided by Royal/T.  

Chef Zimmern will be both in the kitchen and in the cafe to meet guests.  Photo opportunities will be available with the chef at various times throuhgout the evening.

  • Ticket price includes a 5 course meal and a charitable donation to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.  
  • Beverage, gratuity and tax not included.  
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your ticket time, Royal/T will not guarantee seating for parties more than 10 minutes late.  
  • Please note there will be filming on the premises, the purchase of your ticket confirms that you are willing to be on camera.  Guests will also need to sign a waiver upon arrival.

About Andrew Zimmern

Andrew Zimmern is a James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, food writer, teacher and is regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world. As the creator, host and co-executive producer of Travel Channel's hit series, "Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern" and "Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre World", he travels the globe, exploring food in its own terroir. From world class restaurants to street carts and jungle markets, it's all about discovering and sharing the authentic experience.

In May 2010, Zimmern won the prestigious James Beard Award for Outstanding Television Food Personality. He is a three-time Beard Award nominee.  His online series, Toyota’s Appetite for Life, received an Effie in 2010. "Bizarre Foods" also took home two CableFax awards in 2009, one for “Best Television Program: Food,” another for “Best Online Extras” for Andrew’s Travel Channel web series, "Bizarre Foods in the Kitchen." 

Zimmern is a contributing editor at Food & Wine Magazine, an award-winning monthly columnist at Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine and a senior editor at Delta Sky Magazine. As a freelance journalist, his work has appeared in numerous national and international publications.

Andrew has served as a corporate and product spokesperson for Target, Cascal, Pepto Bismol, Toyota, and Travel Leaders. Andrew is the author of The Bizarre Truth, and Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre World of Food published by Broadway Books/Random House and has several books slated for release in the coming year.

About Royal/T

Located in Culver City, Royal/T is a playful blending of café, concept shop, and art exhibition space. The 10,000-square-foot space reflects the interior realm of fantasy that strongly influences the artists included in Owner Susan Hancock’s art collection. The institutional dimensions of Royal/T lie within its art space; many of its exhibitions are curated solely from Hancock’s Japanese-influenced private collection, with the goal of engaging the community through reflective lectures, workshops, pop-up events, and collaborations. Royal/T’s interdisciplinary initiative cleanly melds with Hancock’s desire to educate and entice.
