Andrew Kessler, author of Martian Summer: Robot Arms, Cowboy Spacemen and My 90 Days with the Phoenix Mars Mission(which just came out in paperback). In the summer of 2008, Andrew spent three months living and working in mission control of the last Mars expedition, along with 130 top NASA scientists andengineers, becoming the first outsider ever granted unfettered access to such an event.
Andrew is also CEO and cofounder of Togather, a free, online fansourcing platform that brings authors and audiences together. He holds a degree in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and currently lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.
With another Mars mission currently underway and the new Curiosity rover expected to land on Mars on August 5, it’s the perfect time to stir up excitement among wannabe astronauts around the world. Andrew would love to share his personal account of life inside mission control during a NASA expedition to Mars, explain what’s going on with the current Mars mission, and show people why they should care about science and space.

He'll also provide an update of what's going on with the current Mars Curiosity mission and why we should care, plus answer questions about Mars, mission control and space exploration.
Andrew lives in Brooklyn, but he’s going on the road and deep into cyberspace for his paperback book tour. His work has appeared in The New York Times and on the Discovery Channel, and he holds a degree in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley. He’s an extremely knowledgeable and charismatic expert who has experience with TV, radio and print media, as well as live speaking opportunities.
