"And Another Thing..." Honoring Don Wooten

The founding General Manager of WVIK, Don Wooten, is receiving his honorary
doctorate from Augustana College at its spring graduation on Sunday, May
19, 2013. To honor Don on this special occasion, WVIK is hosting an event at
Augustana College on Thursday, May 16, 2013. A reception will take place from
5-6 p.m. in the College Center Dining Room reception area (second floor lobby)
and dinner will be from 6-9 p.m. in the second floor dining room. Tickets will be
$35 each and will include dinner and two complimentary glasses of wine.
This will be a chance for people to come together to recognize Don’s contributions
in a lighthearted way. Funds raised from the event will benefit WVIK. People
attending will be those affiliated with WVIK and Augustana College, individuals
from the radio and television industries, colleagues Don knows from state
government and organizations with which he has been affiliated (such as the
Quad City Symphony, Quad City Ballet, Genesius Guild, St. Ambrose University
and Quad City Presenters).
