Event Details

Come taste the wonderful brews of America’s first craft brewery! Try a sampling of the many beers made from an all-malt mash in a copper brewhouse.

Cost: $30 at door

Date: Dec 13th

Time: 8pm- arrive early to reserve your seat!

Beer:
California Lager: Made in San Francisco with two-row California barley, Cluster hops (the premier hop in 19th-century California), and our own lager yeast, this all-malt brew is kräusened and lagered in our cellars. Its golden color, distinctive aroma, creamy head, balanced depth of flavor, and smooth finish make Anchor California Lager® a delicious celebration of California’s unique brewing heritage.

Steam Beer: It is a process that combines deep respect for brewing tradition with many decades of evolution to arrive at a unique approach: a blend of pale and caramel malts, fermentation with lager yeast at warmer ale temperatures in shallow open-air fermenters, and gentle carbonation in our cellars through an all-natural process called kräusening.

Christmas Ale 2012: Each year our Christmas Ale gets a unique label and a unique recipe. Although our recipes must remain a secret, many save a few bottles from year to year. Properly refrigerated, the beer remains intriguing and drinkable for years. Different nuances emerge as the flavor mellows slightly, much like the memories of great holiday seasons past. Celebrate the holidays with Anchor Christmas Ale, an Anchor tradition since 1975.

Christmas Ale 2013: Each year our Christmas Ale gets a unique label and a unique recipe. Since ancient times, trees have symbolized the winter solstice when the earth, with its seasons, appears born anew. Our tree for 2013 is the California White Fir. It was hand drawn by local artist James Stitt, who has been creating Christmas Ale labels for us since 1975.

Anchor Porter: A blend of specially roasted pale, caramel, chocolate, and black malts, along with our top-fermenting yeast, creates complexity without bitterness. The brew is hopped at a high rate, and naturally carbonated. The result is dark in the glass, but surprisingly light on the palate.

A little bit about Anchor:

Anchor is America’s first craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Today, our beers are handmade from an all-malt mash in our traditional copper brewhouse. Our process combines the time-honored art of classical brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods.

Battle & Brew

Battle & Brew is Atlanta’s first Game Bar. Opened in 2005, Battle & Brew had a very modest menu, a few beer taps, and focused heavily on gaming. Now we have grown to encompass so much more. We’ve added more tap handles including nitrous taps and serve local and specialty craft beers. We pioneered Geek Trivia in Atlanta, and remain the hardest trivia in town.  We have hand crafted Sake Cocktails. We have upgraded the menu from only a few items to all your bar favorites and some soon-to-be favorites like the Tri Force Burrito and The Mermaid. The gaming is still there, and still top of the line with all the newest games and systems. We’ve taken our great place and made it your great place. A place where the staff listens to your desires and suggestions. A place where you and your friends feel like you’re at home. A place where everyone knows your game.
