Kolin Holladay, Partner, Adams and Reese LLP
Kolin Holladay joined Adams and Reese in 2001 and is a Partner and Team Leader of the Corporate/Securities/ Mergers and Acquisitions team. Kolin focuses his practice on a wide range of legal matters including reporting and filing obligations under federal and state securities law, public and private offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and contract negotiation and interpretation. In addition, Kolin counsels start-up, developmental stage and emerging companies on various matters related to venture capital and other financings. He has extensive experience advising entities on transactions with affiliates and shareholders.
Kolin earned his JD and his MBA degrees from the University of Tennessee, and his undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University where he played baseball and later coached.
Kolin currently serves on the Board of Directors of BCB, Inc., the parent company of the BlueCoast Burrito restaurant chain. Kolin also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nashville Sports Council and previously served as Chairman of the Corporate Membership Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Nashville Sports Council. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Middle Tennessee Board of Directors. He is a member of the Lipscomb University National Alumni Advisory Council, the Lipscomb University College of Business Alumni Board and serves on the Executive Committee of the Lipscomb University Baseball Program. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center, the Maryland Farms YMCA, and the Front Porch Ministry.
Phil Shmerling, CEO, InCrowd Capital
Phil began his career working as an investment banking analyst with Morgan Keegan in the merger and acquisition advisory division. At Morgan Keegan, Phil advised companies in sell-side and buy-side transactions in a broad range of industries including real estate, hospitality, restaurants, media, logistics, aerospace & defense and consumer products.
After three years with Morgan Keegan, Phil moved to Nashville to serve as the Director of Retail at Choice Food Group, where he was responsible for all aspects of the retail division, including accounting, financial analysis, marketing, management, operations and purchasing, as well as vendor and customer relations. In addition, he was responsible for identifying and executing projects for the retail division, as well as for Choice Food Group’s distribution and manufacturing divisions.
In 2012, after close to five years with Choice Food Group, Phil started InCrowd Capital, an online fundraising platform that combines his previous experiences in finance with his passion for business and entrepreneurship.
