Event Details

Please join us for a cocktail reception and an extraordinary evening to support the New Farmer Development Project.  Get ready to be inspired by four of New York City's most innovative Latin chefs who will prepare regional Mexican cuisine with local ingredients at beautiful Sueños restaurant in Chelsea headed by chef Sue Torres.  Dance to rollicking Norteña music performed by NFDP farmer Fily Angel’s El Dueto los Compadres.  And sip a sublime Mezcal cocktail or have a glass of wine while you peruse the silent auction, which will include everything from CSA shares of unique Mexican produce to a cooking class and sangria lunch for 8 with visionary chef Sue Torres.

And the best part is you'll be doing it for the immigrant farmers working to strengthen our regional food system. All proceeds from the event will go directly to helping NFDP farmers recover from the severe damage wrought by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, which devastated over 50% of NFDP farmers' crops. You'll be able to talk to NFDP farmers and learn more about how the New Farmer Development Project has helped to 22 families establish new farms in the region over the past ten years.   Check out our website for more information and to see a short video about the project http://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket/nfdp.
