Liz Dwyer
Education Editor at GOOD
Topic: Easy Social Media for Nonprofits

In a world where things too often don't work, GOOD seeks a path that does. Left, right. In, out. Greed, altruism. Us, them. These are the defaults and they are broken. We are the alternative model. We are the reasonable people who give a damn. No dogma. No party lines. No borders. We care about what works--what is sustainable, prosperous, productive, creative, and just--for all of us and each of us. This isn’t easy, but we are not afraid to fail. We’ll figure it out as we go. Call it a new party, call it a 21st century collaboration, call it an army, call it your new home. Or just call it GOOD.

We are people, businesses, moms, kids, artists, organizations, policymakers, students, teachers, and engineers. All united in one simple idea, each elevated by being connected. Let's do what works and never default to what doesn't. Join us, and together we'll power what works.

She has written on race, parenting and education for several national media outlets, and was named one of Parenting Magazine's top bloggers of 2010. Dwyer previously worked as the education ambassador for the $20 million dollar Pepsi Refresh Project and as a social media consultant for several companies. She has over fifteen years of experience in education, including teaching grade school in both Guangzhou, China and Compton, California, and worked on Teach For America’s Los Angeles staff, where she supervised first and second-year K-12 teachers in the Compton, Lynwood and Los Angeles Unified school districts. She serves on the board of singer John Legend’s “Show Me Ed Reform” campaign, actress Karyn Parson's Sweet Blackberry foundation, and runs marathons in her spare time.

At Eventbrite, we’re passionate about bringing people together around a live experience. Whether it's a photography class or a sold-out concert, an inspiring conference or an air-guitar competition—we're true believers in the magic of events and the power of connecting people. Our service allows everyone to discover events and experience the excitement of bringing them to life.

We do this by making it incredibly easy to create, find or attend an event. We help you manage the hard stuff—such as registrations and selling tickets—and we set you up with the tools to help your event spread virally through social networks. It's event management, search, and promotion all coming together for the first time. We call it social commerce.
