An evening with Jim Avett
Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (CDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The Avett Brothers are getting more and more fame both inside and outside of the alt-rock/Americana/new-folk genre. But there was a man who had a direct influence on their music and lives -- their father, Jim Avett.
Jim comes to Chicago by way of Concord, NC, where the Avett family still resides on a working farm. After Jim retired and had a chance to work on his own music, Jim released three albums showcasing his skills as a singer-songwriter: Jim Avett and Family (2008), Tribes (2010), and Second Chance (2012).
We look forward to welcoming Jim to Chicago at The Living Room space -- an intimate setting closely approximating the feel of a house concert. You are free to bring your own beverages, but want to remind everyone that this will be a very personal show and the focus will be on Jim and his music.
The show has a suggested donation of $15, but Jim was very clear that it is a pay what you can show. If you cannot pay the $15, please donate something and we'll look forward to seeing you. We will also take money at the door.
