The event, An Evening with Cokie Roberts, will feature cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and her speech about the political climate in the U.S. Tickets are $100 each.
WVIK 90.3 FM, Augustana Public Radio hosts Cokie Roberts, the first of a series of NPR reporter/anchors to visit WVIK on an annual basis to bolster community support for the mission of the public radio station.
After gaining notoriety as a top correspondent for National Public Radio, Roberts has become perhaps its most famous denizen, also joining ABC News as a political reporter, host and analyst, winning three Emmys, and authoring multiple best-selling books on her wide-ranging career and personal interests. In 2008, the Library of Congress named her a “Living Legend,” one of the very few Americans to have attained that honor.Now 70 years old, she has just completed her latest book, Founding Mothers: Remembering the Ladies, which highlights the female patriots of the American Revolution.
