Amos Culinary Program's Friday Lunch - Taste of Rhode Island

There’s nothing like summer in Rhode Island—so come help us celebrate the Ocean State with clam chowder, clam cakes to start, then New York System wieners (or loaded veggie dogs) and French fries! And don’t forget johnnycakes for dessert! While preparing this meal, students will apply the soup- and sauce-making skills that they’ve learned over the course of the week.
Join us every Friday at the Friendship Cafe for lunch created and served by the Amos Culinary Education students. Each week the menu will change to reflect their current class teachings. This limited menu will offer the students a structure in which to practice some very specific and important cooking and service skills.

Amos House is a nonprofit social service agency that provides direct support for men, women, and children in Rhode Island who are hungry, homeless, and in crisis. The agency began as a soup kitchen 37 years ago, but has grown into a full service agency that is changing lives through our recovery based 90-day transitional housing program, permanent supportive housing, our job training programs, job development and placement services, life skills classes, literacy and financial literacy education and our overarching community. We are helping men and women to develop the skills they need to live productive lives.
