Join 500 Startups and the Gaza Sky Geeks on Thursday, 10 December, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, to see the competition go down—PLUS, hear live feedback from the Sith Lord himself (Dave McClure), along with a jury of notable tech influencers, after each & every pitch—all while snacking, mingling & laughing at the onstage antics of Kharabeesh entertainers. Attendees will walk away with insights and strategies for building (and pitching!) successful, scalable companies.

Founding Partner

Dave McClure: Dave McClure is the founding partner of 500 Startups, a global seed-stage VC fund & accelerator with ~$200M under management. 500 Startups has invested in more than 1,200 companies across 50+ countries including: Credit Karma, GrabTaxi, Twilio, Udemy, Ipsy, TalkDesk, Intercom, MakerBot (acq'd by SSYS for $400M), Wildfire (acq'd by GOOG for $350M), and Viki (acq'd by Rakuten for $200M). Previously, Dave managed early-stage investments for Founders Fund (2008-2010), and led the Facebook fbFund incubator (2009). After leaving PayPal in 2004 (where he was Director of Marketing), he was an angel investor and advisor in ~15 startups including Bix.com (acq'd by YHOO), Mint.com (acq'd by INTU), Jambool (acq'd by GOOG), TeachStreet (acq'd by AMZN), SlideShare (acq'd by LNKD), and Mashery (acq'd by INTC).

Rasha Manna: Rasha is Managing Director of Endeavor Jordan. She is responsible for managing the Endeavor operations in Jordan, which includes overseeing the search, selection and support of high-impact entrepreneurs & building and managing the mentor network. Previously, Rasha was a Senior Vice President at Jordan Investment Trust Company (JordInvest), heading the Corporate Finance Division where she managed deals including financial advisory, private and public offerings. Preceding this, Rasha was part of Hikma Pharma's Corporate Finance team, where she focused on M&A activity and was responsible for taking the company public on the London Stock Exchange.

Majied Qasem: Majied is an active angel investor and a serial entrepreneur focusing on technology and education. He is the founder & CEO of Ajmal Capital, a company that provides funding for innovative pre-schools & kindergartens. Previously, Majied founded d1g.com, a leading regional portal focused on providing a range of media rich and socially enabled services. Majied has also co-founded the first regional portal, Arabia.com in 1996, which quickly grew to be the largest Arabic community that same year. Majied serves on the advisory board of several startups and has a proven track record in starting and growing technology and media companies in the Middle East.
