The Morehouse College Band Program proudly presents the 1st Annual ASYM Atlanta Live Music Showcase. The hosted event provides up and coming Artists/Groups a platform to showcase their talent in the presence  music industry leaders. 

The panel will critique and select the top artist/group for the opportunity to perform at the Annual American Society of Young Musicians Awards Ceremony in Hollywood, CA that honors some of the biggest names in the music world.

In addition, as a bonus the opportunity will be given to the selected artist/group to perform at the very prestigious Annual Build Grow and Enjoy – Keystone Leadership Awards Ceremony “Celebrating the Community” hosted in Atlanta, GA and be afforded publicity opportunities with Hollywood's hottest Web network- WTV Networks!

All in support to further a young musician's career!

American Society of Young Musicians (ATLANTA CHAPTER)

The American Society of Young Musicians is a non-profit, 501 (c)3, national organization comprised of individuals in the Music and Entertainment industry, as well as various, i.e; A & R's, business leaders, physicians, scholars, and others who together, share a common commitment to the both educationally and musically, of America’s young musicians.

The ASYM organization provides financial assistance to a number of up-and-coming artists, who have shown financial needs as well as artistic talent, while also pairing them with mentors, and career counseling. The ASYM comprised of some 1500 plus members with affiliates in Illinois, New York, Texas, California, Flordia, Minnesota, and Georgia. To date over 2600 musicians have came through the ASYM’s doors, sobering over 650 musicians and granting thousands of dollars in scholarships. Supporters of the scholarship programs have included past attendees from the fields of rock, pop, and soul from the Quincy Jones, John Mellencamp, The Foo Fighters, The Black Eyed Peas to the Goo Goo Dolls, Chaka Khan, Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, and Lisa Marie Presley to name a few.

The Atlanta Chapter provides an outlet for young musicians to come together in support of advancing in the music world. The Chapter along with the National ASYM organization has the ability to provide a variety of services based on the needs of struggling artists, ranging from financial assistance, shared housing referrals, mentorships at labels, employment services, a support network of fellow artists encompassing counseling, artistic support, and alcohol and substance abuse referral components. Each month the chapter will come together as a group to meet and greet the many young musicians to discuss the many opportunities available through the organization as a member. The monthly mixers will also provide a platform for young musicians to showcase their talent with celebrity guest appearances. (Open to the Public)

The American Society of Young Musicians Live Music Showcase (Atlanta) presented by the legendary Morehouse College Bands Department (Ray Charles Performing Arts Center-Atlanta) provides up and coming Artists/Groups a platform to showcase their talent in the presence of the biggest names in the music industry. Those selected by the National President and Executive Committee; Jarvee Hutcherson, Quincy Jones - Chairman/CEO (Quincy Jones Entertainment), Dionee Warwick, Madonna,Christina Aguilera, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Tom Whalley-CEO Seven Four Entertainment (Universal Music Group), Steve Barnett - Co President (Columbia Records), Randy SpendLove- President (Paramount Pictures Music), Charles Katz - SR. VP Strategic Marketing (Universal Music Enterprise), Charles GoldStuck - President (Touch Tones Corporation), The Cure, and George Clinton(naming a few); to perform will be rewarded with the opportunity to showcase their talent at the Annual Live Music Showcase (Atlanta) in the presences of the Chapter's selected Music Industry panelist, whom will critique and select the top artist/group for the opportunity to perform at the Annual American Society of Young Musicians Awards Ceremony in Hollywood, CA that honors some of the biggest names in the music world. Proceeds from the Live Music Showcase and Monthly Mixers provide support for the Atlanta ASYM programs offered. With these various support mechanisms in place detriments such as miseducation, alcohol and substance abuse, and social economic limitations will not be allowed to deter young artists from their dreams
