The Advanced Manufacturing Association of North Central Florida (AMANCF) and the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Council for Economic Outreach (CEO) will host a screening of American Made Movie on Wednesday, October 16th at 5:30pm. A panel discussion on the Gainesville and Alachua area’s opportunities in manufacturing will immediately follow the screening. Registration is available at AMMGainesville.Eventbrite.com. Employees of any current AMANCF-member company are welcome to attend the screening and discussion. Non-members can join for $10. Food and drinks will be available courtesy of AMANCF and CEO.
The documentary tackles the issues behind the decline in American manufacturing and its devastating effect on the local and national economies. It will provide attendees with a broad understanding of the issues from leaders in the industry, government, and effected communities, and as a precursor to the panel discussion, where a blend of representatives from across the Gainesville and Alachua manufacturing spectrum will share their experiences and insights into the region’s opportunities and strengths. Panelists will be announced prior to the event.
