American Liquors Advice and Appraisals - Mike Veach and Bill Thomas
Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
Ever wonder what that dusty old Bourbon bottle in your grandmother’s attic is worth? How about the history of a long-forgotten brand on a timeworn advertising sign in your basement? The Kentucky Bourbon Affair will help you find the answers.
“American Liquors,” sponsored by The Filson Historical Society and the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, will offer advice and appraisals on rare Bourbon items as part of the inaugural showcase of America’s only native spirit.
To get the most in-depth research, ticket holders will be asked to submit photographs and descriptions of their items beforehand. Similar items might be grouped together for analysis and discussion to ensure an efficient and smooth process.
Mike Veach, The Filson’s acclaimed Bourbon historian and a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, will provide background on brands and items, while Bill Thomas, owner of the Jack Rose Dining Saloon in Washington, D.C., will be on-hand to appraise whiskey bottles.
Reservations are required. Please use the EventBrite link below to make your reservation or call The Filson at 502-635-5083.
A $10 donation is encouraged.
