Event Details

In this special, free program, we will take a private tour of the National Portrait Gallery exhibition, American Cool, with a Portrait Gallery docent and then write our creative responses to the work.

Featuring portraits of America's hippiest musicians, actors, and artistic rock stars, such as Miles Davis, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Bessie Smith and David Byrne, American Cool includes photos by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Annie Leibovitz, Richard Avedon, Herman Leonard and Diane Arbus.

This fun program will include an hour-long interactive tour of the show and then you will have time to do some independent writing.

This is a private event. RSVPs are required.

Please note, due to musuem rules, pens are not allowed in the art galleries to avoid accidental damage to the art. You must use pencil for writing.
