Educating the Whole Child: The Importance of Emotion and Play in Learning
Please join us for an elegant evening of food, cocktails, auction bidding and an outstanding discussion about the role of emotion and play in learning with Nina Rappaport-Rowan. Head of School Ed Walters will also share some exciting moments from our third year before we dance the night away. We look forward to celebrating with the community so please bring your friends, family and neighbors and let's raise some FUN(ds)!
Educating the future isn't just about the three R's -- confidence, creativity and problem solving allow all of us to learn and succeed. Nina Rappaport-Rowan, creator of Kimochis, a tool for engaging children in learning emotional intelligence, joins the Alta Vista School Community this April to talk about the importance of emotion and play in our learning environments.

Join us for our third annual benefit to raise awareness of our mission to prepare children to succeed in a global marketplace and support our Education Access Fund, a need-based aid fund that contributes to 10% of our operating budget to ensure access to our school for families in our community.
The event is intended to encourage attendees to support not just Alta Vista School but all efforts at ensuring that the next generation is prepared to innovate, compete, and thrive in a global community. We look forward to a FUN evening!
Founded in 2010, Alta Vista School is an independent K-8 school focusing on science, math, and technology from the earliest grades. We are guided by a shared vision and passion for educating children in ways that help them grow dynamically. While many schools focus on data, our focus is on providing students with a vigorous, interactive approach that engages their imagination and nourishes their curiosity, while providing the stimulation and tools to solve problems and think effectively. Our discovery-based learning approach helps children learn “how to think” not “what to think,” and our approach to science, math and technology is integrated throughout a rich curriculum that includes arts, public speaking, social responsibility, music and other enrichment areas.
