Alt Cert Meeting to Discuss Approved Funds for Partner Districts and Meet the Candidates - Job Fair
Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM (CDT)
We are very excited!
- Both houses of the General Assembly have passed the bill extending the GSU Alt Cert under the current law for another year so that will have a Cohort 15 under the TQP Grant. Now we are just awaiting the Governor’s signature. Special thanks to Rep. DeLuca and Rep. Riley and Senators Hutchison and Hastings!
- Our grant officer has approved significant funds for professional development initiatives with our partner districts, including:
Ø Each partner district is eligible for up to $10,000 for Danielson in-district training with CEC
Ø Each partner district is eligible for continued professional development training funds – raised from $1000 per month to $2000 per month (August – May - $20,000)
Ø Funding for additional GAPS PLC teams with Dr. Murphy, with each building receiving $4000 for their initiative
Ø For those in the Principal Evaluation, increase to $300 (of the $360 cost for VAL-ED) for each principal.
We will have a follow up Meet the Candidates session for those of you who were not able to join us in May, immediately following at 3 p.m. It is very important that we discuss grant guidelines regarding the disbursement of these funds.
Only those partner districts with resident placement(s) in 2013-14 will be eligible for these funds.
