The Alpha CrossFit Wurst Games 2013 will be a competitive event and expo that promotes excellence in all-around fitness. The games will provide an atmosphere of excitement and healthy living… encouraging people of all ages and fitness levels to get active!
Individual and team athletes from all over Texas will compete against each other, in designated workouts, to gain points. The top athletes will complete the competition day with a final workout to determine top placement and Wurst Games 2013 Champions.
In addition to the actual competition, an event expo will take place both the evening before and during the competition. Vendors from all over Texas and the local community will be on site promoting their businesses and providing interactive activities for athletes and spectators. There will also be a special KIDS workout in the afternoon. This is sure to be a fun family event!

The event & packet pick-up will take place at Alpha CrossFit in New Braunfels, Texas – 1153 N. Academy
The Post-Games Party will take place at The Pour House (Downtown New Braunfels)
The Wurst Games will use a relative scoring system. Athletes are rewarded according to their placing in each event relative to their peers – not according to their absolute performance on that event. CrossFit “movement standards” will be adhered to throughout competition judging.
*This division is for athletes proficient in ALL fundamental CrossFit movements and skills.
*This division is for athletes who don’t typically perform the prescribed workout at their affiliate/box.
**We will cap these divisions at 32.
MASTERS (40+ Years)
*All MASTERS must register under the SCALED division IF you want to be judged against other MASTERS. Your scores will be seperated for MASTERS division placement and awards. You do not HAVE to compete against MASTERS if you are 40+. (You may register under the OPEN/RX Division if you prefer to compete against all age levels.
Two (2) Males & (2) Females per team (16 Teams cap)
There will be 3-4 events/challenges that will be announced approximately 10 days prior to the competition. Required movements and movement standards are currently posted at AlphaCrossFit.net/wurstgames2013.
The top (1st place) OPEN/RX Male and Female athlete will each be awarded a $300 cash prize.
The 2nd place OPEN/RX Male and Female will each be awarded a $100 cash prize.
The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place OPEN/RX Male and Female athletes will be awarded a Wurst Games 2013 "trophy".
The top (1st place) SCALED/MODIFIED and MASTERS Male and Female athlete will each be awarded a Wurst Games 2013 "trophy".
The top finishing (1st place) TEAM will be awarded a medal for each participant and one TEAM trophy.
All competitors will receive an event t-shirt and hefty "swag bag". *Guaranteed t-shirt size deadline is Oct 4

This event is organized by affiliate owner/operators and seasoned athletes Chris and Lauren Cavanagh. Event Director, Lauren Cavanagh, has extensive experience “CrossFitting”, competing in endurance races and event coordinating. Competition Director, Chris Cavanagh, is a CrossFit Games competitor & judge, CrossFit affiliate owner and seasoned coach/trainer. The directors are backed by a specialized event committee and numerous volunteers.
