AlligatorZone is where kids meet cool startups. Parents, children and youth can meet and talk to local startup founders in a community-gathering that celebrates entrepreneurship. Guide the entrepreneurs so they can avoid the metaphorical alligators that can hurt their enterprise. Steer them successfully across the AlligatorZone and participate in local innovation in a unique and exciting way. Bring your family along to learn about the local startups' offerings, and share your perspective with the founders in a live interactive exchange. Let the entrepreneur(s) tap into the collective wisdom of the community! Here's a link to a report of a recent session in another location. We encourage kids and youth in the audience to also join the others in asking the entrepreneurs questions about their offerings and voicing their opinions. For parents, current and future entrepreneurs, please read the philosophy behind AlligatorZone.

When & Where
AlligatorZone is where kids (aged 7 and above) get to meet with entrepreneurs from cool startups, and interact directly with the founders and their creations.
AlligatorZone is a free public program that gives local entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their startups in front of an audience of kids, teens and accompanying families, in a library, answer their questions and also listen to their opinions. AlligatorZone is proving to be not only an unparalleled enriched-learning experience for children, including teens, but also a joyful community gathering of like-minded families celebrating entrepreneurship in their community, and participating in local innovation in a unique and exciting manner. A fringe benefit to the startup founders is that they are learning to simplify their message to a broader audience that includes 3rd graders, in a setting that’s both enlightening and eye-opening.
AlligatorZone could not have been launched so quickly and efficiently without the generosity and the forward-thinking leadership of the library and their team members who have been providing incredible support, space and promotional efforts. This would also not have been possible without the encouragement of the leadership and members at entrepreneurship-organizations in the area. AlligatorZone is a program of SiliconGlades (www.siliconglades.com) being brought to the community with the support of the public library and soon, some benevolent sponsors.
