ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE

Love in film has always been a matter of looking for it in the wrong places or not knowing how to find it at all. The characters in this program’s selection of love films showcase this timeless case of disorientation, whether it is a New York City hipster pleading for a second chance or a toddler searching for his second half.

La Stanza dei Bottoni – Dir: Francesco Faralli – NARRATIVE - 0:12:33 – ITALY

Eleven-year-old Anna wants to be noticed by her first crush and to do so she needs a new dress. The problem is that her requests are ignored by the males of the family. Anna has always been good and calm but even her patience has a limit.

Domingo – Dir: Juan Manuel Ortiz – ENVIRONMENTAL - 0:07:15 – COLOMBIA

A beautiful and impeccable middle class family does its household chores on its day off, without noticing that its exaggerated cleanliness turns against them, contaminating the water they consume. DOMINGO (Sunday) is a fun visual performance about being conscious about the appropriate use of our resources.

Grow Up Already – Dir: Richard Pragacz Keith – NARRATIVE - 0:10:00 – USA

After being dumped by his girlfriend Winnie, Andy Mott is determined to win her back -- the only problem is, he's got a LOT of growing up to do.

Reunion – Dir: Ryan Frost - 0:10:30 - NARRATIVE – USA

Legend has it, when two students kiss in the gazebo and cross the old wooden bridge on Westhampton Lake together; they are bound to each other as soul mates.  Reunion is the story of college sweethearts who kissed in the gazebo but did not end up together.  Ten years later, by coincidence or fate, they are reunited on the bridge and it's as if ten years faded away into yesterday...except she is with her husband and son.

Abandoned – Dir: Holle Singer – NARRATIVE - 0:04:05 – USA

Haunted by memory, Abandoned is a romantic grapple for meaning after the unexplained disappearance of his lost love.

Hooray For Earth - True Loves – Dir: Joe Nankin – MUSIC VIDEO - 0:03:30 – USA

A man is stalked by a mysterious warrior as he traverses his own mind scape in search of a fading memory.

Nem que tudo termine como antes – Dir: DANIEL CASELLI and Mariana Martínez – NARRATIVE - 0:12:45 – BRAZIL

Two young romantics, deeply in love with each other, struggle to endure a self-imposed end to their relationship.

Secret Fear – Dir: Daniel  Bedingfield – MUSIC VIDEO - 0:04:33 – USA

The music video for 'Secret Fear' explores the violent nature of a passionate love affair.

Harry Grows Up – Dir: Mark Nickelsburg – NARRATIVE - 0:11:30 – USA

New York is a tough place to find love.  Especially for an eighteen-month-old boy who lives on his own.

Losing Sam – Dir: Xavier Manrique – NARRATIVE - 0:10:00 – USA

Justin breaks hipster code and choses to do the unthinkable by actually confronting reality. He tracks down Sam, his ex girlfriend, on his wedding day in a location no self-respecting hipster has visited since the 90's: Soho. He hastily pleads for her to ditch the wedding and run off with him until Sam's fiancé, Sam arrives.
