2014 Economic Outlook

Dr. Vladimir Bejan, Seattle University

and Dr. Stan Humphries, Zillow, Inc.

February  6th, 7:30am-9:00am

It’s a New Year and once again time to examine the portents, signs and leading economic indicators to give you an exclusive SU alumni and friends economic forecast for the state of Washington and the United States for 2014.

Vlad BejanVladimir Bejan, Assistant Professor of Economics at Albers, earned his PhD in Economics from Kansas State University. His research interests include macroeconomics, time series econometrics, and energy economics. Currently, he is working on a structural model that examines the effects of global oil shocks on the economy under different monetary policy rules.

Joining Vlad on the program is Dr. Stan Humphries, Chief Stan HumphriesEconomist at Zillow, Inc. Stan is responsible for the economic research and quantitative modeling teams at Zillow, Inc. He helped create the algorithms for the Zestimate® home value and the Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI).  These tools make Zillow a recognized voice of impartial, data-driven economic analysis on the U.S. housing market.

Stan regularly appears on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, and Fox News to discuss real estate data and housing trends, and is frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and the San Francisco Chronicle, among others.

Time for questions and answers is included.

The forecast presentation will be held on February 6th from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in Casey Commons, atop the Casey Building at Seattle University.  See here for a map of the campus:
