Would you like to deepen your understanding of business ethics and how to create an ethical culture of compliance? The second Albers Business Breakfast of 2014 brings to Seattle University Andy Hinton, Vice President for Ethics and Compliance at Google. Andy's appearance highlights Albers Ethics Week - a week in which business practitioners teach alongside Albers faculty members in every Albers class taught speaking on ethical questions and situations from their careers.

Joining Andy in the Ethics Week featured breakfast presentation for alumni and friends will be Dr. John Dienhart, Boeing Frank Schrontz Chair of Business Ethics at Albers.  

Andy HintonAndy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Harvard University, and then graduated from Fordham School of Law where he was a member of Law Review.

Andy joined Google in 2006, and in his current position is leading the company’s efforts to seek out and reduce compliance risk. Prior to his role with Google, Andy was Chief Compliance Officer at GE Commercial Finance - Capital Solutions and GE Commercial Finance - Commercial Equipment Financing. 

He focused on white collar crime as a Federal Prosecutor in New York City from 1994 to 2003, and from 1989 to 1994, Andy concentrated on commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense at the New York City law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. 

John Dienhart is the Founder and Director of the Center for Business Ethics at Seattle University and the Director of the Northwest Ethics Network, an independent group of ethics and compliance officers from the Pacific Northwest. 

John DienhartJohn’s focus is on creating ethical cultures in which compliance occurs naturally. He has consulted with and done ethics training for Bonneville Power Administration, Costco, Holland America, Premera Blue Cross, Russell Investment Group, Starbucks, Washington Mutual, and Weyerhaeuser. 

John is a past President of the Society for Business Ethics. His comments have been published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, the LA Times, the Puget Sound Business Journal, the Seattle Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Check in will open at 7:00 a.m. for those who wish to arrive early for coffee and networking. The cost is $15 and a hot breakfast will be provided. 

Payment may be made in advance or will be accepted at the door. If you wish to pay at the door, we are happy to assist you; but you must register in advance so we have adequate food and seats.
