Event Details

NEXUS-NY (New Energy Xcelerator of Upstate New York) is one of three newly created, NYSERDA-funded Proof-of-Concept Centers charged with accelerating the growth and commercialization of clean energy technologies developed throughout New York. NEXUS-NY serves the entire upstate New York region, including the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Ithaca, and Binghamton areas.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at iCLEAN College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, NEXUS-NY executive director Doug Buerkle will describe how the new program benefits for university-based and independent researchers and companies and others interested in the commercial potential of their clean energy technology.

Among the topics Buerkle will discuss are the ways NEXUS-NY will:

  • Provide commercialization funding of more than $50K per clean energy team
  • Educate program participants on “lean start-up” methodology
  • Link technology teams with experienced mentors, entrepreneurs, and investors
  • Teach technology teams to test the commercial potential of their inventions using a structured, low-risk process
