8 – 8:30

Check-in and Coffee

8:30-9:15

An electronic document and records management program is not comprehensive or complete until it addresses all the content on shared network drives.  Most organizations have little idea about what resides on the share drives, who owns it, how much could be records or what to do about it.  This session will help attendees with an approach to knowing what they have, methods to clean it up and how to manage the content as records.

Brian Tuemmler, Director, Gimmal LLC

9:15-10:00

The concept of appointing RM Coordinators across an organization is a fundamental RIM concept that receives very little attention compared to the implementation of ECM technology.  But while advances in technology are making it possible for records and information managers to extend retention and other business rules across all media and storage locations, technology can't do it all. We still need RM Coordinators to do it well. But what is the best ratio of RM Coordinators to employees? What responsibilities should be assigned to them, and how do we extend their responsibilities to e-records?

Susan Cisco, Director, Gimmal LLC

10:00-10:15

Break

10:15 – 11:00

Unified Records Management - Learn how to manage both physical and electronic records, with a central view of all inventory, regardless of format or location.  Find out how to apply policy across physical and electric records and information.  Develop efficient and standard processes for the entire lifecycle of your records and information.

Iron Mountain's Accutrac provides a unified solution for your physical records.  Through integration to SharePoint through GimmalSoft URM, you achieve a unified solution for both physical and electronic records.

Kurt Thies

Iron Mountain

VP, Unified Records Management

11:00-11:45

Records Management 2.0 leverages new concepts, capabilities, and a viral platform (SharePoint) to achieve unobtrusive, transparent content governance and compliance and become the platform that provides organizations with the opportunity to manage 80-90% of enterprise content under policy. This is a paradigm shift for traditional records managers and enterprises alike. It gives organizations the opportunity to establish a game-changing platform for content governance in a multi-repository context and enables records management to establish broader corporate relevance and value. Learn what’s coming in SharePoint 2013.

Mike Alsup, Vice President, Gimmal LLC

11:45-12:00
