Description

Buildings that Make a City

What’s a great urban realm without equally wonderful buildings to match?!

At our October meeting we will focus on the buildings that make good urbanism. A series of presenters will present building types that we're not seeing enough of and some of which we have yet to see in LA. The presentations will cover urban types, mixed-use, lower and higher densities.

  • Alex Anamos will present the London Garden Square type
  • Gerhard Mayer will present the Attached Courtyard House type
  • Ashle Fauvre will discuss the European Block type
  • Ric Abramson will present a Live/Work type for retrofitting commercial corridors
  • Martin Leitner will present the Multi-Family Villa type

The presentation will lead into a discussion of opportunities for new building typologies in Los Angeles and identifying opportunities for chanes in the planning framework to encourage innovation.

Please join us on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the offices of RTKL Associates.
