Hosted by the Minneapolis Chapter’s Evolving Practice Forum, the October lunch program, “Communicating Architecture with Video” will explore the various ways that architects are adopting video to enhance communication with their clients and the public. Whether competing for a project, illustrating a complex design issue to a client, or provoking on-line discussions, greater numbers of architects and firms are looking to video as a means to engage an increasingly gadget savvy, time-strapped, and digitally oriented public.
A panel of three speakers will offer their diverse perspectives on the current and future state of video in architecture practice. Speakers include Grant Eull, Creative Director at Pixel Farm Digital; Charles Orton, AIA, Associate principal at AECOM; and Nat Madson, employee at VJAA and Adjunct Instructor at the University of Minnesota.
In a first for the AIA Minneapolis lunch program history, the October event will be videotaped. A much shortened video of the program (1 ½ - 2 minutes) will be created for use on the chapters’ web page and other public events. For the reserved and media adverse, arrangements will be made to protect individual privacy.
