Join SoCal Social Club and hundreds of other community members in the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's Candlelight Vigil & March to mark the 30th anniversary of the discovery of HIV/AIDS.
The “Remember AIDS” event will begin with a gathering at the Matthew Shepard Memorial Park at 7:00 pm and the march will begin at 8:00 pm. After arriving at West Hollywood Park (on San Vicente between Santa Monica Blvd. and Melrose) at around 9:00 pm, participants will view a large-screen projection of names of those who have died from HIV/AIDS (from www.aidswatch.org) since it was first discovered in 1981. There will also be a visual display highlighting key moments in HIV/AIDS that occurred in each year since its discovery.
The “Remember AIDS” event will be a tribute to those who have been lost to HIV/AIDS, as well as look ahead, as advocates and community members renew efforts to fight the epidemic.
Please wear a RED shirt so we may recognize each other as members of SCSC.
