January 24 and 25, 2014
Conference Registration 1/25/13 - $15.00 prior to Conference and $20 at door
Includes: General Session with Keynote Speaker Jeff Manley of The Rock Ranch, workshops, tradeshow, and refreshments. Lunch sold separately.
Concurrent Sessions will include:
10 a.m. Pasture Fertilization Basics, Cottage Foods, Cut Flower Programs
11 a.m. Social Media for Ag, Food Safety Modernization Act, Agritourism 101
1 p.m. Poison in the Pasture, Food Preservation, Grafting (non-citrus) Fruit Trees
2 p.m. Backyard Egg Production, Farm to Restaurant, Florida Hay; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Pre-Conference Farm Tour 1/24/14- $40 - limited number available
Bus transportation to livestock and crop farms; lunch included. Tour begins from Sparr Lumber and Building Supply, 6000 Signature Dr, Wildwood, FL 34785-9510. Tour continues to hydroponic grower Verti-Gro, Caruthers cattle ranch, and Ferris Groves. Tour bus will return to Sparr by 5:00 p.m.
Pre-Conference Shock-a-Pond Workshop 1/24/14 - $25- limited number available, Sumter County's Lake Miona Park, 10501 CR 115 (off CR 472E) in Oxford, FL. 1PM - 5PM Workshop led by Dr. Chuck Cichra of University of Florida's Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. The workshop will provide hands-on examples of invertebrates, aquatic plants and numerous fish species from the lake.
