Jeff Kearl – Co-Founder, CEO & Chairman of Stance
Jeff is the co-founder, CEO and Chairman of Stance, a high-growth apparel company whose investors include Dwayne Wade, Jay-Z and Will Smith. Prior to Stance, Jeff was formerly the Executive Vice President and served on the board of directors at Logoworks, an Internet startup that was successfully acquired by HP in 2007. Following the acquisition, Jeff ran strategy and new ventures at HP. Previously, Jeff worked as an Associate at vSpring Capital, a Salt Lake City-based venture capital firm with over $500M under management where he invested in both software and Internet companies including Altiris, Ancestry.com, Cerberian, Control4, and MediConnect Global. Jeff serves on the board of directors at Skullcandy (NASDAQ: SKUL), Needle and Julep. Jeff was named the 2012 Director of the Year by the Forum for Corporate Directors for serving as Chairman of Skullcandy during the company’s growth from under $1M in sales through its IPO in 2011. He was also named the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year in Orange County for co-founding and leading Stance.
Jeff is an active angel investor and a Managing Director at Precedent Investments. He has invested in over 30 startup companies. Most of Jeff’s investments have been in consumer technology companies such as 99 Designs, Ancestry.com (NASDAQ: ACOM), Familylink (acquired by MyHeritage), Science and Uber. He has also invested in several social media infrastructure companies such as Dynamic Signal, Lithium, Needle, Supernova, Visual.ly and ZEFR. Other investments include SAAS companies such as Coupa, Domo, InsideSales.com, Omniture (IPO then acquired by Adobe) and Outright (acquired by GoDaddy). But his favorite investments are brands with authenticity; Celtek (snowboarding), Matuse (surfing), The People’s Movement (environmental awareness) and Skullcandy (music).
Nic Galway – Vice President of Global Design – adidas Originals
Nic Galway’s 16-year tenure with adidas has spanned numerous creative roles across performance and style. In his current role as the Vice President of Global Design for adidas Originals, Nic identifies and isolates the iconic language of the brand and translates this into a compelling modern design context. Evidence of Nic’s design process at work is his involvement in celebrated product offerings such as the Tubular, Pure BOOST and Y-3 Qasa, as well as his work in forming many of adidas’ high profile collaborations including adidas by Stella McCartney, Y-3 and most recently the brand’s partnership with Kanye West.
Jon Wexler – Global Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing, Adidas
After 13 years at adidas, Jon Wexler has become a priceless member of the global team furthering the brands presence in entertainment and sports. In 2008,Jon was appointed Global Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing, where his team's main responsibility is to lead product placement in the film / tv / music video space, while servicing influencer product needs. An industry pioneer in entertainment marketing and influencer relations, Jon is considered the architect of the Kanye West partnership and key contributor in the brands resurgence in hip-hop. Coined the ‘Go-To Guy’ for all things adidas and everything hip-hop, Jon continues to connect the brand with emerging artists – with a keen eye on spotting future superstars. Simply stated, Jon is a dot connector of the highest form and is the conduit for all non-athlete relationships for adidas in the lifestyle space.
Mark Gonzales – Professional Skateboarder and Artist
Throughout his 30-year career as a professional skater and artist, Mark Gonzales stands as one of the most universally adored skateboarders of all time. Recognized among the original pioneers of street skateboarding during the early 80s, The Gonz’ unmatchable style, relentless creativity and quirky approach to the world has made him an icon among skaters, artists, brands and global leaders in the creative space. Apart from his contributions to skateboarding, Gonz is equally revered in the art world and has left his unmistakable imprint at notable galleries from New York to Paris to Tokyo. Today Gonz maintains his role as the creative hand of Krooked Skateboards and continues to build on his 15-year legacy as a global pro and brand ambassador to adidas.
