All we want for Christmas is LESS GOVERNMENT SPENDING!
Join us on Monday, December 9th, for a Christmas-themed Townhall focused on keeping runaway federal spending in check. We at Americans for Prosperity are urging Congress to fulfill spending reductions it promised in the bipartisan spending limit agreement in 2011. By January 14, 2014, Congress will consider funding the federal government for the remainder of the fiscal year. We want Congress to limit spending to $967 billion, which keeps the sequester cuts in place, sticks to the Budget Control Act and returns to pre-stimulus levels.
It’s the Christmas season and we'll also ask that you bring a canned good, which will be donated to the local food bank.
We’ll have door prizes (including a mini iPad).
You might also want to bring your camera because SANTA CLAUS will be making an appearance! Bring the kiddos- they are more than welcome to join us. After all, it's their economic future we’re working to protect. . .
Come hungry – we will have food and beverages!
When & Where
Americans for Prosperity - Texas
Americans for Prosperity - Texas (AFP-TX) is committed to educating citizens about economic policy and mobilizing those citizens as advocates in the public policy process. AFP is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state, and federal levels. AFP grassroots activists advocate for public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint. To that end, AFP supports:
- Cutting taxes and government spending in order to halt the encroachment of government in the economic lives of citizens by fighting proposed tax increases and pointing out evidence of waste, fraud, and abuse.
- Removing unnecessary barriers to entrepreneurship and opportunity by sparking citizen involvement early in the regulatory process in order to reduce red tape.
- Restoring fairness to our judicial system.
