The Association of Fundraising Professionals has designated November 15, 2012, as National Philanthropy Day, a special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—have made to our lives, our communities and our world.
The North Central Florida Chapter will host a celebration on Thursday, November 15, at the Ocala Hilton & Conference Center to honor individuals who have made a significant impact on philanthropy from Ocala, Gainesville and the surrounding communities.
Lunch will feature a keynote presentation by non-profit expert and nationally known consultant, Jerry Smith, CFRE. Mr. Smith will speak about major gifts.
Jay Frost will also be on hand to offer a morning workshop aimed at Executive Directors, Board Members, Development and Program Staff, Volunteers, and Donors. Mr. Frost is well known for his blog, "Fundraising with Frost." His session will focus on "Telling Your Story with Social Media."
