On Tuesday, August 19th, Afghanistan celebrates its 95th year of independence. In New York City, the holiday will be celebrated at Bamiyan, a fine dining restaurant in heart of Gramercy. Owned by Afghan immigrants, the restaurant prides itself in giving back to the local community and building connections over fine food and drinks.
It is a perfect combination to celebrate Afghan Independence Day.
Join Afghans (#AfghanID), the diplomatic and national security community (#NatSecNYC), and Afghanistan veterans in a communal celebration of this great holiday. Food and drink specials will begin at 5:30 pm, and a ceremony commemorating independence will take place at 7:00 pm.
Space is very limited -- please RSVP now to ensure your participation in celebrating the 95th year of Afghan Independence. If you're on Twitter, please include your username during registration so we know to say hello!
