1B:     Ready...Aim....Click!                                     Presented by Bill McCuddy

Basic Photography for Teachers will explore photography with a historical overview, a look at its uses, especially in the teaching environment and thoughts on where the technology is headed in the future. Participating teachers are encouraged to bring their own digital cameras to the class as we will be doing some "hands on" exercises in the second half. We will look at how to effectively do individual portraits, group shots, close-up photography and action shooting to name a few. In addition we will look at "digital darkroom work", the use of Photoshop type software to get the most out of your images.  Bring your own laptop (fully charged and don’t forget the camera cords).

1C:     Hand fishing with iPads                         Presented by Pam Gayheart

We encourage you to bring your own iPad (fully charged) so you can learn the basics of getting around and moving things on your iPad.  We will look at the basic software, talk about where to find Apps, what makes a good App and a few outstanding Apps you just need to catch for use in your classroom.

2B:     Closing the Circuit                                         Presented by Heidi Steinbrink

Looking for activities to help teach the basics of circuits and electricity?  Than this is the session for you.  With a focus on grades 5-9, you’ll learn effective ways to teach electrical basics through hands-on and inexpensive materials.  All of the activities can build upon each other or can be stand-alone depending on your classroom needs.  Walk away with a number of inquiry based activities that will allow your students to construct their understanding and complete the circuit!

2C:     The Eeewww Factor

Let us help you turn science from “Borrrring” to “Eeeewww, Cool”.  We’ll take a look at science activities with the “eeewww” factor that you can use in your classroom.  Bring your own gloves and apron!
