Community Conversations

Friday, March 15, 2013

8:45 am - 3:00 pm

University Center Greenville, Auditorium

The purpose of the ALAS Community Conversations Conference is to provide opportunities to understand the changing demographics of South Carolina and the nation; to dialogue about what these changing demographics mean for the economic development of South Carolina; to explore a variety of partnerships sharing common visions for ensuring success for all, especially the growing Hispanic population.

The ALAS Community Conversations Conference will establish partnerships to promote Latino achievement and success in the Upstate by:

  • Stimulating conversations about the changing culture and demographics in the Upstate and South Carolina;
  • Identifying and examining issues within the broad areas of education, health, legal issues and economic impact specific to the Latino community; and
  • Developing an actionable agenda that is responsive to the needs of a diverse Latino population.
