Through lecture and discussion this presentation is designed to address the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adolescent depression. Addressing how it is different than adult depression will also be presented.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this learning activity, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the risk factors for depression that are particular to adolescents
- Describe areas to address assessing for adolescent depression
- Understand the impact of family variables as they relate to adolescent depression
- Describe a treatment modality for adolescent depression
