AD2SF Presents: Social Media Advertising in the Public Sphere

With the addition of the Government Relations Director position, AD2SF is thrilled to launch our new government relations initiative by hosting a panel discussion about social media advertising as it relates to government policies and laws, and online privacy issues.

6-6:30 PM: Networking with drinks, beer, and appetizers (Special thanks to our sponsors, Tagged!)
6:30-7:30 PM: Panel discussion, Q&A
7:30-8 PM: Closing remarks

Today social media platforms are more widely used than their founders in Silicon Valley and around the world ever imagined ten or even five years ago. With the ongoing rise in the popularity of these services has come a concurrent rise in the presence of advertising on these platforms, integrated into the user experience in various ways.

Come join us for a four-person panel to discuss these developments and others.

The problem that we will address is two-fold:

  1. There is a lack of understanding of the origins of these ads and how they are developed, i.e. what user behavior leads to the ad’s appearance in their sidebar or the like
  2. There is still some lack of clarity on how much online privacy factors into the situation

This event is designed to explore  the modern developments in the advertising field that relate most directly to everyday life and the things we do online throughout a common day, and how government is related to all of it.

Don't miss out and sign up now!
