Facilitated by Dr. Edwin Bell. Action research is a type of descriptive research that involves a cyclical examination of the relationship among the variables that are involved in a particular situation. It encourages the triangulation of data sources and data collection methods, in addition to the use empirical and constructivist epistemologies. It can support the scholarship of discovery, the scholarship of integration, the scholar of application, and the scholarship of teaching. Action research may be a valuable strategy to assist faculty members in meeting the expectations for more scholarly productivity.
