One of the greatest challenges students face in the United States issuccessfully passing their mathematics classes. Many students simply do not have the knowledge and skills needed to do well in class and/or perform well on standardized tests such as the ACT or GED. Some of them do not put in the necessary effort because they are “brainwashed” with the idea that - “Math is too hard!” And yet there are others who are paralyzed with fear fueled by previous negative experiences.
In response to this, Dr. Lourdes Ferrer, in partnership with the College of DuPage (COD) Latino Outreach Center, will be providing a series of 3-hour workshops for students and parents who have participated in any of Dr. Lourdes Ferrer’s parent/student workshops or leadership academies and want to improve their performance on the mathematics portions of the ACT or GED.
