American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
ACLS- Fast Track Option
Fast Track is designed for healthcare providers that routinely use ACLS skills, such as EMS, ICU, Emergency Department, and Hospitalists. Fast Track is for experienced caregivers only; you must be ready to pass the exams upon entering the classroom. There is only a short classroom review of current guidelines and changes, followed by testing.
- You must have a current certification in Basic Life Support.
- You must complete a pre-course self examination with a score of 80% or better and bring the results with you to class in order to participate.
- You must pass the written and practical examinations in order to receive a provider card.
ACLS Fast Track is worth four hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Please check with your licensing body to ensure they accept CME for continuing education.
You will receive an email 2-3 business days after completing the enrollment and making payment. The email contains instructions for accessing the AHA Student Website, where you can complete the pre-test and review the supplemental course materials.
PACCAR Medical Education Center
Opened in September 2008, the PACCAR Medical Education Center is a dream that became a reality thanks to the cooperation of Adena, local, state, and federal officials, and the community. Through philanthropic grants, our community raised over $5 million to support the construction of the PACCAR Center while Adena Health System contributed $10 million.
