Title:               The Future of Healthcare Financing

Program Description:

Financing, a driving force on the healthcare landscape, continues to become more complex. With budgetary pressures on Medicare and Medicaid, pay for performance and federal expectations for investment in technology without regard to costs, executives must constantly monitor the financing landscape. Given these pressures, many questions emerge.


William Gross                                                                                       BCE Healthcare Advisor In consulting from 1992 until the present, Bill has developed several physician/hospital joint insurance ventures and continues to design and implement clinical accounting and workflow management system in healthcare and non-healthcare enterprises.



Sheila Fuse                                                                     Primary Partners, LLC

Sheila is well-versed in process re-engineering and strategy execution after a successful career working for the Royal Bank of Scotland, PLC and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Primary Partners has been selected by CMS to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (ACO), providing a unique perspective on the future of reimbursements.


Michael Spake                                              Lakeland Regional Medical Center

Michael Spake is Vice President of Administrative Services for Lakeland Regional Health Systems, overseeing the strategic management of governmental relations, public relations, external communications, development, and community partnerships as well as the creation, oversight, and day-to-day operations of the Compliance & Integrity and Internal Audit Programs.


Steve Short                                                                 Tampa General Hospital

With over 24 years in the Healthcare Finance Field, Steve is currently the the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Tampa General Hospital, a facility with over 1,000 licensed beds and the primary teaching hospital for the University of South Florida.



This program has been developed and is presented locally by the Western Florida Chapter of ACHE.  The American College of Healthcare Executives has approved 1.5 Face-to-Face  (formerly Category 1) credit hours for this program.
